Scalping
Trading in seconds or minutes to grab tiny moves, many times a day. It demands total focus, low commissions and spreads, and fast execution. It's the most stressful style and the one that punishes mistakes hardest — not recommended to start with. For those with screen time and a cool head.
Day Trading
Opening and closing all positions within the same day: you never hold overnight, so you avoid overnight risk. It requires several hours at the chart and a lot of discipline. It's the 'classic' active-trader style, but you need a proven method before risking real money.
Swing Trading
Holding trades from days to weeks to capture mid-size moves. You only need to check the chart once or twice a day, so it's the most job-friendly style. In exchange, you take on overnight and weekend risk (gaps). A favorite for beginners with little time.
Position Trading
A long-term approach: you hold for weeks or months, following the underlying trend. It barely needs screen time and commissions hardly matter, but you must sit through big pullbacks without panicking. It's closer to investing; it takes patience and conviction in your analysis.
